In Class A signaling circuits, the outgoing and return conductors form the same supervised signaling path back to the control panel. This arrangement simplifies installation and keeps the signaling loop intact. The other options don’t fit because there’s no general prohibition on sharing the raceway, no mandatory metal conduit requirement, and the allowance isn’t restricted by circuit type beyond the Class A signaling context.
